Artist's Statement
The human form is the most
compelling
source of my inspiration, particularly because
of it's
endless
possibilities for abstraction.
A blank canvas always invites my
curiousity
to discover a new world that I can
rearrange
and make my own.
Bio
In 2010 Elke Albrecht
was invited into a group
exhibition at OK Harris Gallery
in SoHo,
where she had her first solo show in
2009.
A second solo show will follow.
In 2008 and 2009 she was included in
the
prestigious NYU small works show,
juried
by the Stephen Haller Gallery and OK Harris.
Her artistic talent, recognized by
a series
of prizes, easily propelled her
through an
MFA at the University of Art and Design
Halle Burg Giebichenstein (Germany).
As a Manhattan resident she has been
invited into a number of groupshows
and
her work has been included in many
private collections, some of them by com-
mission.
She studied at the Art
Students
League of New York and the National Aca-
demy School of Fine Arts.
